SQL DBA Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Oversee technical database operations, including installation, configuration, and migrations.
• Lead and guide team members while ensuring adherence to defined processes and standards.
• Perform SQL Server installations and provide recommendations for new deployments.
• Manage and support SQL Server AlwaysOn clusters for high availability.
• Execute database migrations (Oracle to SQL Server, SQL Server upgrades, and cloud migrations to Azure SQL DB/PaaS platforms).
• Troubleshoot database issues and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Develop and maintain backup and restoration strategies across multi-geo environments.
• Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks for optimization.
• Utilize tools such as Commvault for backup management and Quest Foglight for monitoring.
• Implement disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) solutions.
• Automate administrative tasks using Batch or PowerShell scripting.
• Ensure maximum system uptime and reliability.
• Recommend design improvements and new technologies to enhance system performance and scalability.

Qualifications:

• Strong expertise in SQL Server administration, including installation and configuration.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server AlwaysOn and high availability solutions.
• Proven experience with database migrations and upgrades across platforms.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database and cloud-based database solutions.
• Knowledge of backup tools such as Commvault and monitoring tools like Quest Foglight.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Understanding of disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Familiarity with production support environments and datacenter operations.

• Familiarity with NoSQL and cloud databases such as Azure Cosmos DB, Redis, or MongoDB.
