Summary

The Administrative Assistant I provides essential administrative and clerical support to assigned departments. This entry-level role supports daily business operations through document preparation, data entry, records management, scheduling coordination, and general office support. Responsibilities may vary depending on the assigned department or specialty area.

This position is ideal for candidates with prior administrative, receptionist, front desk, customer service, or office support experience who are organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow professionally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to department staff
  • Assist with meeting scheduling, calendar coordination, and preparation of materials and documentation
  • Collect, organize, maintain, and file records and documentation accurately
  • Perform alpha and numeric filing in accordance with document retention procedures
  • Enter and maintain data in company systems with a high level of accuracy
  • Create basic spreadsheets, reports, and data summaries using Microsoft Excel
  • Support shipping and receiving activities, including tracking and documentation
  • Assist with document retention and compliance-related recordkeeping
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, for daily administrative tasks
  • Support basic SharePoint functions, including uploading, organizing, and maintaining files
  • Provide general office coordination and departmental support as needed
  • May assist with front desk or receptionist responsibilities, including greeting visitors, answering phones, and directing inquiries

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3+ years of administrative assistant, receptionist, office assistant, customer service, or related experience preferred
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Vocational or administrative support training may be considered in place of experience
  • Experience with data entry, filing systems, shipping/receiving, or records management is a plus

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Basic Excel skills, including simple formulas and data organization
  • Strong organizational and filing skills (alpha and numeric)
  • Basic experience with SharePoint preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to department-specific processes


Location: Torrance, CA

Type: 12+ month contract
Schedule: 4–5 days onsite required
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
