We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Developer to lead the end-to-end engineering, support, optimization, and modernization of a large-scale Salesforce platform supporting statewide public health programs for the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH). This role is responsible for maintaining platform stability, architecting Apex and LWC solutions, optimizing API-based integrations via MuleSoft, enforcing strict cybersecurity controls, managing CI/CD release pipelines, and building internal team capacity through structured training and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
- Application Support & Platform Maintenance: Provide expert-level troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning across Salesforce Core, Experience Cloud, custom components, and APIs; monitor governor limits and reduce technical debt.
- Custom Development & Modernization: Architect and build scalable features using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow Builder, advanced permission models, and custom data structures.
- Integrations & Middleware: Design and optimize secure API-based integration pipelines connecting Salesforce with external surveillance, reporting, and analytics systems using MuleSoft or similar middleware frameworks.
- DevOps & CI/CD Management: Manage multi-environment sandbox strategies and automated release cycles (Dev, QA, UAT, Staging, Prod) using version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Security, Compliance & Governance: Implement platform-level controls including Field Audit Trail, Event Monitoring, Platform Encryption, MFA, and least-privilege access in accordance with state cybersecurity standards.
- Capacity Building & Training: Create comprehensive architecture diagrams, SOPs, and deployment guides; deliver structured training to mentor internal IT staff for long-term platform self-sufficiency.
- License & Strategy Optimization: Evaluate Salesforce licensing tiers, Experience Cloud usage, and API entitlements to optimize costs and align with feature needs.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Enterprise Development Experience: 11+ years of total professional experience in enterprise software application development.
- Salesforce Platform Mastery: 7+ years of dedicated, hands-on Salesforce engineering experience.
- Core Technical Stack: 5+ years of deep expertise using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, SOQL/SOSL, and advanced configurations.
- Enterprise Environment Support: 5+ years supporting complex, high-security Salesforce environments with strict operational SLAs.
- Integration & API Architecture: 5+ years designing REST/SOAP APIs, integration patterns, middleware pipelines (e.g., MuleSoft), and data exchanges.
- Security & Governance: 3+ years applying security hardening, encryption, identity governance, and audit trails in regulated environments.
- DevOps & Release Engineering: 3+ years managing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, version control, and environment promotions.
- Technical Documentation & License Strategy: 3+ years authoring architecture diagrams, TDDs, process flows, and evaluating Salesforce platform licensing models.
Highly Desired Qualifications
- Salesforce Certifications: Platform Developer II, Experience Cloud Consultant, Integration Architect, or Identity & Access Management Architect.
- Prior experience in public sector technology, state health agencies, or large-scale government system modernizations.
- Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, observability tools, and error-monitoring platforms.
