Summary

As the Senior Network Engineer, you would work with a team in Birmingham to design, implement, and troubleshoot data communications systems for all company locations across the states. The team provides integration and consulting services to all internal departments and systems. Term - Permanent Position
Required Skills & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required - college degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in planning, implementing, and maintaining critical environments
  • 5 - 7 years networking experience similar to:
    • Wide-area networking technologies, protocols, and related hardware (Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, etc.)
    • High-end L2/L3 routing and switching - spine and leaf (prefer Arista or Cisco)
    • SD-WAN/VPN/Basic Firewall (Prefer Fortinet)
    • Data Center, Cloud, Branch and Internet connectivity - Complex BGP routing
  • Extensive experience with Ethernet switching, packet analysis, and large-scale LAN and WAN deployments.
  • Enterprise network management tools - PRTG, Fortinet Suite, Arista Cloud Vision, etc.
  • Experience with network disaster recovery implementations - including cloud
  • Strong written & verbal communications skills

What You Will Be Doing
  • Provide network architecture planning, design and implementation - highly prefer cloud expertise
  • Provide 3rd level network support & problem resolution
  • Interact with other corporate teams for enterprise level projects
  • Provide WAN/LAN proactive capacity management
  • Maintain WAN/LAN documentation and business recovery procedures
  • Change management, software updates and configuration management
  • Evaluate & recommend networking hardware and software - data center and branch
  • Operate and maintain the network management platforms
  • Professionally interact with NOC, Operations, vendors and support teams to maintain stable network environment
  • Security conscious network design
