Join an established MSP, VAR, and internet services provider as a Senior Solutions Architect in a unique dual-role opportunity based in Tempe, AZ. This organization, headquartered in Salt Lake City, has evolved from an internet broker and VAR specializing in firewalls and switching equipment to offering comprehensive managed services including cybersecurity, cloud solutions, and collaboration technologies. With a strong presence in Utah and growing footprint across the US, the company is building a lean, high-impact team in Arizona to support enterprise clients with best-fit technology solutions. This position combines sales engineering expertise with hands-on technical operations, serving as both a client-facing technical advisor and a senior-level contributor to the Network Operations Center. After an intensive 90-day on-site training period, the role transitions to a hybrid schedule with three days in office and two days remote. Base salary ranges from $120,000 to $160,000 based on experience and technical breadth, with a commission structure currently in development.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a technically deep professional who doesn't want to choose between client-facing consulting and hands-on technical work. Unlike traditional solutions architect roles that stay at 30,000 feet, you'll architect solutions and then roll up your sleeves to implement and support them, maintaining technical credibility and continuous learning. The dual role (50% sales engineering, 50% network operations and implementation) provides tremendous variety, from leading discovery sessions with CIOs to configuring firewalls and tuning security tools. You'll build expertise across the company's vetted product portfolio through cross-training with specialized business units, rapidly expanding your technical breadth. Working with enterprise clients in the growing Arizona market, you'll have high visibility and direct impact on business success. The lean team environment means your contributions matter immediately, with opportunities to shape processes and influence technical direction. The first 90 days of intensive on-site cross-training ensures you're set up for success, building relationships with engineers across different business units. With compensation ranging from $120,000 to $160,000 plus developing commission structure, this role offers both stability and upside potential. The consultative approach focuses on finding right-fit solutions rather than pushing specific products, allowing you to be a true trusted advisor.
