SQL Server Data Engineer Database Administration (MS SQL Server, VBA & MS Access) - 67508

Pay Rate: $55 $60/hr

We have an immediate need for a SQL Server Data Engineer based in Richardson, TX , USA. This role focuses on supporting and modernizing database-driven applications, with a strong emphasis on MS SQL Server and legacy MS Access/VBA environments, while working closely with cross-functional teams.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, supporting, and maintaining SQL Server based solutions and legacy MS Access applications. You will work on stored procedures, performance tuning, indexing, and data modeling, while also documenting and reverse engineering existing database and application logic. The position requires the ability to quickly analyze and simplify complex VBA code and Access form structures, support data architecture initiatives, and contribute to migration and modernization efforts. Strong communication is essential, as you will collaborate across teams and support effective knowledge transfer.

The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience with SQL Server, MS Access, and VBA, along with a strong understanding of data architecture principles. You should be comfortable working in legacy environments, interpreting complex logic, and improving performance and maintainability. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are key to success in this role.
