Position: Senior Software Engineer
Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale CA 94089
Duties: Design, develop, test, debug, and implement application, software, and operating system components, software tools, and utilities. Conduct performance testing. Implement and test complex code changes to fix identified defects in existing software products or to add enhancements to new/future software releases. Troubleshoot complex bugs within code. Perform actions as designated in the remediation plan. Ensure system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to guarantee availability and increase efficiency. Assist in development of requirements with product management and architects. Provide recommendations to enhance design to prevent recurrence of defects. Participate in the discovery of small to medium-sized initiatives to develop high level design. Handle and solve software and systems monitoring issues. Research and modify existing code. Assist in deployment of new infrastructure solutions. Complete technical documentation for multiple functions including testing. Perform root cause analysis and develop an action plan. Set priorities for backlogs by identifying short- and long-term solutions. Migrate to new technologies as needed. Develop and leverage understanding of multiple technologies to diagnose and resolve large, complex problems independently. Solve technical software problems, conduct code reviews, and design and implement complex features across system. Collaborate with product management and the business to develop a new product or improve an existing product. Present to senior-level audience on complex issues for enhanced visibility.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 2 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 5 years of post-bachelor's progressively responsible experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.
Skills required: Experience building N-tier applications using Java, J2EE, and Java based framework including Spring, Spring boot and Jersey framework. Experience working on container orchestration system including Kubernetes for automating software deployment, scaling, and management. Experience designing and implementing scalable modern backend applications using Node.js and JavaScript. Experience developing stream-processing platform that deliver and consume real-time data feeds using Kafka and JMS. Experience designing database using relational database management system including postgres and non-relational, NoSQL databases including Cosmos DB. Experience implementing Unit tests, Integration tests, and Automation test scripts using Junit and Mockito frameworks. Experience with performance and load testing of web application using tools including JMeter. Experience designing and developing scalable and efficient REST API services to meet the requirement of the organization and its client. Experience building, monitoring and alerting capabilities for applications using monitoring and logging tools including Prometheus, Grafana, SumoLogic, and Splunk. Experience with Agile Development, Scrum, and extreme Programming methodologies. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $185,587/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
