ROLE SUMMARY
The Intersect Group is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator III to serve as a senior member of an Infrastructure Services team responsible for the design, administration, security, and optimization of enterprise technology environments. This role provides technical leadership across Windows systems, cloud platforms, identity management, virtualization, disaster recovery, storage, automation, and security initiatives.
The ideal candidate will develop and maintain complex infrastructure solutions while ensuring reliability, performance, and security across enterprise systems. This individual will collaborate with cross functional teams, lead modernization efforts, implement automation strategies, and provide expertise that supports both operational excellence and long term technology objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server environments including installation, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and lifecycle management
• Design and develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Ansible, or similar technologies to improve operational efficiency
• Implement and maintain disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity solutions while validating recovery processes
• Manage enterprise storage platforms, including performance monitoring, capacity planning, replication, and optimization activities
• Administer Microsoft Azure infrastructure, hybrid cloud services, and cloud based identity solutions
• Manage Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Single Sign On, and enterprise authentication services
• Support VMware virtualization environments, including hosts, clusters, virtual machines, and infrastructure optimization
• Implement security hardening standards, vulnerability remediation activities, and infrastructure compliance initiatives
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, operating system, application, and cloud related issues
• Create technical documentation, establish operational standards, and provide mentorship to junior technical staff
KEY REQUIREMENTS
• 5 to 7+ years of progressively responsible Windows Systems Administration experience, including at least 3 years supporting enterprise level infrastructure environments
• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience
• Advanced experience administering Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 environments
• Proven experience supporting Microsoft Azure cloud services and hybrid cloud infrastructures
• Strong expertise with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise identity management
• Experience implementing automation through PowerShell, Ansible, or comparable scripting technologies
• Hands on experience managing VMware virtualization platforms and enterprise virtual infrastructure
• Experience supporting enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions
• Knowledge of application deployment and endpoint management technologies including SCCM, Intune, or equivalent platforms
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, infrastructure hardening, vulnerability management, and compliance best practices
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and project coordination skills
• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments and infrastructure modernization initiatives
• Experience with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and cloud collaboration platforms
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, observability, and logging solutions
• Experience working within ITIL based service management environments
• Experience supporting large scale, complex enterprise environments
• Relevant certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, VMware VCP, VMware VCAP, or ITIL Foundation
