Summary
Job Title: ServiceNow Developer
Location: Watsonville, CA
Working Model: Onsite (Mon-Thu Onsite, Friday is remote)
Duration: 6-12 months
Position Overview
The ServiceNow Developer will lead the design, development, configuration, and optimization of the ServiceNow platform. This consultant will drive implementation of new modules, integrations, automation opportunities, and platform enhancements. The role collaborates closely with stakeholders across IT and business functions to deliver scalable, high Quality solutions, while ensuring platform stability, performance, and strategic alignment to business needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design sessions and create solution documentation for assigned ServiceNow applications.
- Configure and enhance core and custom applications, workflows, UIs, and system integrations.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, including automation, AI solutions, and system optimizations.
- Manage platform upgrades, conduct impact assessments, and coordinate remediation activities.
- Perform day-to-day administration and resolve production support issues.
- Mentor and guide ServiceNow team members, including analysts and junior developers.
- Support and develop modules including ITSM (Incident, Request, Problem, Asset, CMDB, Knowledge), ITBM (Idea, Demand, Project, Resource, Finance), ITAM, and ITOM.
- Create and manage Business Rules, UI Policies, Client Scripts, Notifications, UI Pages, Macros, APIs, and ACLs.
- Follow best practices for release management, source control, and development lifecycle.
- Manage multiple projects of varying complexity, including process definition, requirements gathering, solution design, training documentation, and data migration strategies.
- Design and implement data import/export solutions between ServiceNow and external systems.
- Collaborate with business units to define requirements, streamline processes, and deliver effective solutions.
- Develop and deliver user training for technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Create operational and executive-level reports and dashboards.
- Stay current on ServiceNow capabilities and recommend platform improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of experience performing in a dedicated ServiceNow Developer role.
- 5+ years of experience within the functional domains of ITSM, ITBM, ITAM, and ITOM.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes.
- Expertise in ServiceNow scripting and configuration including JavaScript, XML, HTML, REST/SOAP APIs, and workflow design.
- Experience with SDLC, Agile methodologies, security practices, and DevOps-aligned development.
- Experience with version control and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
