Summary

Our client, a leader in the automotive industry, is seeking an Automotive Embedded Security Tester to join their team. As an Automotive Embedded Security Tester, you will be part of the cybersecurity department supporting innovative automotive security initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical thinking, strong technical skills, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Automotive Embedded Security Tester

Location: Plymouth, Michigan

Pay Range: $40 -$50/hr

What\'s the Job?

    \t
  • Conduct comprehensive security assessments and penetration testing on automotive embedded systems, including ECUs, vehicle computers, gateways, and digital instrument clusters. \t
  • Design and execute targeted fuzzing campaigns using industry-standard frameworks to identify vulnerabilities. \t
  • Analyze wired vehicle networks such as CAN, CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet, LIN, and FlexRay, intercepting and manipulating traffic for security testing. \t
  • Perform wireless protocol analysis across Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Cellular, UWB, NFC, and RF systems, utilizing SDR tools for vulnerability research. \t
  • Engage in hardware and firmware reverse engineering, including physical attack vector testing and firmware extraction for static analysis.

What\'s Needed?

    \t
  • Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical field. \t
  • Proven experience in penetration testing, vulnerability research, or reverse engineering within automotive embedded systems or IoT devices. \t
  • Deep understanding of automotive E/E architectures, RTOS, and microcontrollers such as Infineon AURIX, Renesas RH850, or ARM Cortex. \t
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, C/C++, Bash, or Assembly, with familiarity in machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch. \t
  • Certifications such as OSCP, OSCE, OSWE, or relevant automotive/IoT security credentials are preferred.
