Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer to join the Mainframe Batch Scheduling team. The ideal candidate must have strong system programming expertise in CA7 or other CA/Broadcom scheduling products and hands-on experience in configuration, build, and implementation activities. This is a technical engineering role (not an operations/support position).

The candidate will work closely with infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams to manage and enhance batch scheduling processes across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within the Mainframe Batch Scheduling team to support enterprise batch environments.
  • Perform installation, configuration, build, upgrade, and implementation of CA7 or other CA/Broadcom scheduling tools.
  • Provide system programming support for CA products.
  • Design, configure, and maintain job scheduling workflows and dependencies.
  • Troubleshoot scheduling failures and performance issues at a system level.
  • Collaborate with application teams for batch job onboarding and enhancements.
  • Implement automation and optimization improvements within scheduling frameworks.
  • Support integration with enterprise tools such as AAI (Automation Analytics & Intelligence) from Broadcom Inc. (VMware platform experience is a plus).
  • Develop or support automation scripts using Python or Rexx (good to have).
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise standards and security policies.
  • Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong System Programming experience in:
    • CA 7 Workload Automation
    • Other CA/Broadcom mainframe scheduling products
  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Installation & configuration
    • Build & implementation
    • Environment setup and upgrades
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise mainframe environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
  • Understanding of batch job lifecycle and job dependency management
