This role is hands-on and highly collaborative, working closely with engineering, infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure security capabilities are effectively designed, implemented, and operationalized.
The SAE is not a purely theoretical architect. This role bridges
security strategy and execution, helping teams integrate security tooling, validate coverage, improve visibility, and reduce risk through scalable and automated approaches.
Key ResponsibilitiesSecurity Architecture & Engineering- Design and evolve security architectures that align with enterprise standards while supporting modern platforms, applications, and infrastructure.

- Support the integration and optimization of security tooling across endpoint, infrastructure, application, and data layers.
Tooling, Visibility & Risk Posture- Partner with security operations and platform teams to ensure consistent asset visibility and coverage across the environment.
- Support consolidation and correlation of security data from multiple tools (e.g., endpoint protection, SIEM, vulnerability scanning, application security).
- Help define and validate security posture metrics, ensuring leadership has accurate, actionable insight into risk.
Vulnerability & Platform Enablement- Collaborate with vulnerability management and application security teams to ensure vulnerabilities are identified, prioritized, and contextualized based on asset and application criticality.
- Support platform teams in building and refining internal security dashboards and automation capabilities that reduce manual reporting and audit effort.
- Assist with security discovery, asset inventory alignment, and data accuracy across tooling ecosystems.
Governance, Standards & Advisory- Provide architectural guidance aligned to industry standards and internal security policies.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to product, infrastructure, and engineering leaders on security design decisions.
- Participate in architecture reviews, design forums, and risk discussions as a security SME.
Required Qualifications- 7+ years of experience in security engineering, security architecture, or related technical security roles
- Strong understanding of:

- Infrastructure, application, and cloud security fundamentals
- Vulnerability management and security tooling ecosystems
- Hands-on experience working with security platforms such as:
- Endpoint security tools
- SIEM / logging platforms
- Vulnerability scanning and application security tools
- Ability to translate security requirements into practical, implementable solutions
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in highly matrixed environments
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting large, complex enterprise environments
- Familiarity with asset discovery and inventory challenges in distributed systems
- Experience partnering with teams building internal security platforms or dashboards
- Background working closely with both security operations and engineering teams
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g., PCI, media, entertainment, large consumer platforms)
Role Characteristics- Highly collaborative and embedded with delivery teams
- Mix of strategic architecture thinking and hands-on execution
- Iterative, problem-solving mindset focused on improving visibility, scale, and automation
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity while platforms and tooling continue to evolve
