OverviewWe are seeking a
Terraform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role focuses on automating cloud and hybrid environments, improving consistency and reliability, and enabling self-service infrastructure for engineering teams. The ideal candidate has strong Terraform expertise, cloud platform experience, and a passion for automation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain Terraform modules and environments to provision and manage cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code best practices, including modularization, versioning, state management, and reusability.
- Provision and manage infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or multi-cloud environments, including compute, networking, storage, and security components.
- Integrate Terraform workflows into CI/CD pipelines, enabling automated infrastructure deployments and governance.
- Collaborate with platform, security, and application teams to ensure infrastructure meets performance, scalability, and compliance standards.
- Manage Terraform state securely using remote backends and enforce role-based access controls.
- Support environment lifecycle management, including development, staging, and production environments.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure deployment issues and optimize Terraform configurations for reliability and maintainability.
- Maintain documentation, standards, and patterns to promote consistent infrastructure practices across teams.
- Stay current with Terraform features, provider updates, and cloud architecture best practices.
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of hands-on Terraform experience designing and managing production infrastructure.
- Strong experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Solid understanding of cloud networking, security groups/firewalls, IAM, storage, and compute services.
- Experience integrating Terraform with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Proficiency with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze infrastructure failures across environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
- Familiarity with configuration management or automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
- Exposure to container platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Experience operating in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
- Terraform certifications (Associate or higher) are a plus.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.24 - $73.68/hr.
