Summary

An IT compliance remediation specialist would be responsible for assisting in remediation of vulnerabilities, compliance enforcement and security/functionality improvements for Microsoft Windows endpoints. They will also assist with Ubuntu Linux and MacOS device compliance remediation.
Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of endpoint patching and remediation including OS and 3rd party, business and engineering tools. Assist with software packaging and distribution, endpoint management technologies and user experience improvements.
  • Perform hands-on management of such systems as necessary.
  • Test, deploy and maintain Windows based computer images. Assist with macOS and Ubuntu Linux imaging and configuration of infrastructure.
  • Create, test, and assign Windows Group Policies, configuration profiles and deploy software packages as necessary. Maintain internal self-service application installation portals.
  • Responsible for vulnerability management across Windows and other platforms. Work closely with Information Security on maintaining necessary security baseline and standing while not significantly impacting system usability and user experience.
  • Provide root cause analysis of current issues and work with other department staff to remediate quickly and efficiently.
  • Provide hands-on L3 support
  • Perform operational reporting on software and hardware inventory, software usage reports, license utilization and other CMDB data pulls. Assist in license audit, true-up and new software licensing purchases and maintenance.
  • Continually identify improvement opportunities as well as prioritize, evaluate, and implement new technologies into the environment. Stay current on industry developments and upcoming technologies and practices.
  • Develop and maintain overall documentation and Standard Operating Procedures. Provide training and materials to IT support staff and business users as needed.

Skills/Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of back and front end for management tools such as InTune, JAMF, Ansible Tower, SCCM, LANDesk, Active Directory(+Azure), etc.
  • Expert skills in Scripting/Programming in Batch, Bash, Python, PowerShell, VBS, Swift, etc.
  • Extensive technical knowledge in all aspects of IT.
  • Strong prioritization and organization skills and a self-starter
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems, ability to multitask
  • Strong Oral and written skills
  • Knowledge of computer image and provisioning creation + lifecycle
  • Ability to act as a user advocate, technology consultant and solution architect
  • Knowledge of Enterprise IT endpoint management and application packaging/deployment
  • Proficient in documentation (technical and user facing)
  • Knowledge of project running and management
  • Ability to work in a diverse user base and with engineering software support teams

Education

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Security+ and/or CISSP certification.
  • ITILv4 certification is preferred.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of System Administration and user support in an enterprise setting.
  • Experience in DoD compliance adherence (e.g. NISP, DFARS ,NIST SP800-171, SP800-53, CMMC).
