Summary

Role: Microsoft 365 Sharepoint - Content Migration Specialist Location: remote Duration: 12+ month
Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory, assess, and organize content across SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and associated document repositories.
  • Execute content migration activities, including file transfers, document library migrations, and folder structure alignment.
  • Validate migrated content to ensure completeness, accuracy, metadata integrity, and proper retention of permissions.
  • Reconcile migration results and resolve discrepancies, missing content issues, and access concerns.
  • Document migration activities, findings, risks, and remediation plans.
  • Partner with business units and IT teams to support migration planning, scheduling, and execution efforts.
  • Assist with content classification, metadata management, and document management best practices.
  • Support user acceptance validation and post-migration issue resolution.
  • Provide guidance and support to end users throughout the migration process to encourage adoption and minimize business disruption.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for content cleanup, consolidation, and governance improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments, including:
    • SharePoint Online
    • Microsoft Teams
    • OneDrive for Business
  • Experience performing enterprise content or document migration activities.
  • Understanding of document management principles, information organization, and content governance.
  • Experience managing permissions, document libraries, folder structures, and metadata.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve migration issues.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Microsoft or third-party migration tools such as ShareGate, Quest, Metalogix, AvePoint, or similar technologies.
  • Experience working with large-scale document repositories and enterprise collaboration platforms.
  • Familiarity with records management, retention policies, and compliance considerations within Microsoft 365.
  • Experience supporting organizational change management and end-user adoption initiatives.
  • Previous experience participating in mergers, acquisitions, tenant consolidations, or large-scale migration programs.
