Role: AI Project Manager || W2 only
Duration: 6-month contract
Location: Hybrid in Chicago 2 days/week
Client is seeking a high-impact AI Project Manager to lead and coordinate the next phase of its enterprise AI transformation, focused on Agentic AI rollout following Copilot deployment. This individual will operate at the center of a highly visible program with daily executive engagement, supporting the rollout of AI agents, citizen development enablement, and the establishment of governance and operating models.
This is a mission-critical role requiring a proactive, hands-on PM who can drive structure, accountability, and execution in a rapidly evolving and ambiguous environment.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Delivery Execution
- Lead day-to-day project management for Agentic AI rollout and scaling efforts
- Drive execution across AI agent deployment, citizen development initiatives, and enablement activities
- Coordinate across product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely delivery
- Facilitate daily syncs and cross-functional working sessions in a highly visible program setting
- Track milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple workstreams
Governance & Operating Model Support
- Facilitate (not define) conversations around AI governance, controls, and monitoring frameworks
- Ensure alignment with emerging enterprise standards for AI usage, risk, and compliance
- Support rollout of citizen developer frameworks and operating models
- Partner with leadership to ensure governance decisions translate into actionable execution plans
Project Management Excellence
- Own and maintain RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies)
- Ensure high-quality Jira hygiene, backlog tracking, and status reporting
- Drive clarity in ambiguous and evolving processes where structure is still being built
- Provide executive-level status updates and reporting as needed
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the central coordination point across AI program leadership (e.g., product, engineering, and business leads)
- Proactively drive conversations, surface risks, and escalate issues early
- Support presentations and program communications for leadership forums (e.g., town halls, executive reviews)
Must-Have Qualifications
- 6+ years of Program/Project Management experience in enterprise environments
- Proven ability to drive complex, cross-functional initiatives with limited structure
- Strong experience managing RAID logs, dependencies, and milestone tracking
- Hands-on experience with Jira or similar tools, with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to operate with urgency, autonomy, and accountability
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to drive meetings, challenge assumptions, and speak up proactively
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to AI, GenAI, Copilot, or Agentic AI initiatives
- Experience supporting enterprise technology rollouts or digital transformation programs
- Familiarity with governance, risk, or compliance processes in technology programs
- Experience working in high-visibility programs with executive stakeholders
