Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Security Specialist with deep expertise in AWS cloud services and cloud-native security tools to support the IT Security Engineering team at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. This role is responsible for the strategy, design, deployment, compliance review, and hardening of security solutions across AWS cloud, local, and hybrid enterprise environments.
Key Candidate Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on AWS security engineering and architecture experience.
- Mandatory / Required Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) is required.
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty is strongly preferred.
- Federal Cybersecurity Compliance: Comprehensive knowledge and direct experience implementing federal requirements, specifically NIST SP 800-53, NIST CSF, and OMB M-22-09 (Zero Trust).
- Technical Proficiencies:
- In-depth expertise in AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), network security architecture, vulnerability management, and data loss prevention.
- Hands-on experience evaluating and securing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and embedding security into DevSecOps delivery pipelines.
- Proven ability to assess architectures against the AWS Well-Architected Framework (Security Pillar), conduct cloud infrastructure security reviews, and build automated security posture dashboards.
