Summary

Job Description

Everforth ECS is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in independently applying a wide set of engineering disciplines for system design, analysis, coding, testing, roll-out, and support of information systems architectures. This role would be in support of the Department of Homeland Security.

This role requires expertise in cloud services, infrastructure automation, DevSecOps, open -source ecosystems, enterprise solution design, and software and infrastructure engineering practices.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical leadership, the ability to engage with a diverse set of stakeholders, and the ability to adapt solutions to evolving requirements and priorities. The Senior DevOps Engineer will contribute to establishing best practices that enhance delivery processes across teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Continuously optimize AWS and Gitlab cloud platform services across all integration points.
  • Interact closely with key project stakeholders to design, plan, and implement operationally sustainable solutions.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to deliver proposed solutions.
  • Provide thought leadership across engineering efforts.
  • Problem-solve technical challenges as they arise and adjust solutions based on discoveries or new requirements.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to pass a Public Trust investigation.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, Google Cloud Platform Professional Cloud Architect, Etc.).
  • Related experience demonstrating a broad background in:
    • Cloud services
    • Infrastructure automation
    • DevSecOps
    • Open-source ecosystems
    • Application programming
    • Service-oriented architecture
    • Enterprise architecture
  • Deep working knowledge of cloud development platforms, including:
    • IT operations, virtualization, and containerization
    • Networking and storage
    • Disaster recovery
    • Security policy and controls implementation
    • System management and data migration
  • Strong awareness of current industry trends in application and cloud architectures.
  • Significant expertise in public, private, and hybrid cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Proficiency in Linux and Docker.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and excellent client-interaction skills.


Desired Skills

  • Experience supporting DHS or other federal clients.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code tooling, or container orchestration.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to high-quality engineering practices.
  • Ability to think creatively and work independently or as part of a team on complex tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Strong collaborator with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements.
