Summary

Position Overview 

We are seeking an experienced IT Applications Project Manager to lead and manage multiple end-to-end software development and IT application projects. This role is responsible for driving project governance, process improvement, documentation management, stakeholder communication, and successful project delivery across a diverse portfolio of initiatives. 

The ideal candidate will possess strong project management expertise with experience managing both Waterfall and Agile projects in a hybrid delivery environment. This individual must be capable of independently leading large-scale projects with minimal oversight while ensuring adherence to project standards, timelines, budgets, and compliance requirements. 

Key Responsibilities 

Project Leadership & Governance 

  • Lead and manage multiple concurrent software development and IT application projects from initiation through closure. 

  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables using MS Project or Project Online. 

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational objectives. 

  • Maintain project governance standards, documentation, and reporting processes across all assigned projects. 

  • Drive project execution while ensuring accountability for deliverables and milestone completion. 

Stakeholder Management & Communication 

  • Collaborate with project managers, business stakeholders, vendors, engineering teams, and executive leadership to ensure alignment across project initiatives. 

  • Facilitate project kickoffs, planning sessions, status meetings, risk reviews, and stakeholder communications. 

  • Prepare project charters, presentations, communications plans, and executive status reports. 

  • Provide clear and timely communication regarding project progress, risks, issues, and dependencies. 

  • Escalate concerns appropriately and proactively when project risks or obstacles arise. 

Project Planning & Execution 

  • Manage project tracking and reporting using a structured Waterfall framework while supporting Agile delivery teams utilizing Scrum and Kanban methodologies. 

  • Build and maintain project roadmaps, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms using Jira, ServiceNow, and other project management tools. 

  • Monitor project health, team velocity, milestone achievement, and resource utilization. 

  • Identify project constraints, risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement. 

Contract & Compliance Management 

  • Review and interpret contractual documentation to identify project scope, deliverables, milestones, compliance requirements, and obligations. 

  • Translate contractual requirements into actionable project plans and execution strategies. 

  • Ensure project activities remain aligned with contractual commitments and organizational standards. 

Documentation & Process Improvement 

  • Create, maintain, and archive project documentation, meeting notes, action items, decisions, and project artifacts. 

  • Develop process documentation, standard operating procedures, and “how-to” guides. 

  • Reinforce established project management methodologies, governance standards, and best practices. 

  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives across project management and delivery functions. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum 5+ years of project management experience leading software development and IT application projects. 

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects using both Waterfall and Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies. 

  • Strong proficiency with: 

  • Microsoft Project and/or Project Online 

  • Jira 

  • Confluence 

  • ServiceNow 

  • SharePoint 

  • Microsoft Outlook 

  • Experience creating and managing detailed project schedules, dependencies, and resource plans. 

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision. 

  • Experience reviewing contractual documentation and extracting scope, milestones, deliverables, and compliance requirements. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. 

  • Experience creating executive-level presentations, dashboards, and project status reports.
