Compensation: $100,000 - $132,250 base salary, commensurate with experience, plus annual performance bonus (10%-15% target depending on level) and comprehensive benefits.


About the Role

We are seeking a skilled AWS Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building modern data solutions on AWS and a passion for delivering reliable, high-performance data architectures that support analytics, reporting, and business decision-making.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, analysts, and DevOps teams to develop scalable data solutions supporting enterprise initiatives within a fast-paced Financial Services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines utilizing AWS services
  • Build and manage data lakes and data warehouse solutions using Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, and related technologies
  • Develop batch and real-time data processing systems
  • Integrate data from multiple sources and formats across the enterprise
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and security best practices
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for reliability and performance
  • Improve scalability and cost efficiency of AWS-based data platforms
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, Application Development, and DevOps teams
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • 3 8+ years of Data Engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services including:
    • Amazon S3
    • AWS Glue
    • Amazon Redshift
    • Amazon RDS
    • AWS Lambda
    • Amazon Kinesis
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience with Python, Scala, or Java
  • Experience building ETL/ELT solutions
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Data Modeling
    • Data Warehousing
    • Big Data Concepts
  • Experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar distributed processing frameworks
  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Apache Spark / PySpark
  • Experience with Kafka or streaming architectures
  • Experience with Databricks
  • AWS Certifications (AWS Certified Data Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, etc.)
  • Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Knowledge of Data Governance, Security, and Compliance
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience supporting Financial Services clients

Nice to Have

  • Experience building Machine Learning data pipelines
  • Experience with Real-Time Analytics platforms
  • Exposure to Multi-Cloud or Hybrid Cloud environments
