About the Role
We are seeking a skilled AWS Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building modern data solutions on AWS and a passion for delivering reliable, high-performance data architectures that support analytics, reporting, and business decision-making.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, analysts, and DevOps teams to develop scalable data solutions supporting enterprise initiatives within a fast-paced Financial Services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines utilizing AWS services
- Build and manage data lakes and data warehouse solutions using Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, and related technologies
- Develop batch and real-time data processing systems
- Integrate data from multiple sources and formats across the enterprise
- Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and security best practices
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for reliability and performance
- Improve scalability and cost efficiency of AWS-based data platforms
- Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, Application Development, and DevOps teams
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- 3 8+ years of Data Engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including:
- Amazon S3
- AWS Glue
- Amazon Redshift
- Amazon RDS
- AWS Lambda
- Amazon Kinesis
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience with Python, Scala, or Java
- Experience building ETL/ELT solutions
- Strong understanding of:
- Data Modeling
- Data Warehousing
- Big Data Concepts
- Experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar distributed processing frameworks
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Apache Spark / PySpark
- Experience with Kafka or streaming architectures
- Experience with Databricks
- AWS Certifications (AWS Certified Data Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, etc.)
- Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
- Knowledge of Data Governance, Security, and Compliance
- Experience with Power BI or Tableau
- Experience supporting Financial Services clients
Nice to Have
- Experience building Machine Learning data pipelines
- Experience with Real-Time Analytics platforms
- Exposure to Multi-Cloud or Hybrid Cloud environments
