Summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Full-Stack Developer (Agent/Tool Focus) for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in Tysons, VA or Rockville, MD.

The Full-Stack Developer (Agent/Tool Focus) designs and develops AI agent systems and tool integrations for a generative AI platform. This role drives agent architecture, orchestration, and migration e\orts while building new capabilities that expand the platform's functionality. The Full-Stack Developer works across backend services and API layers, participates in code reviews, and helps establish development patterns across the team.

Responsibilities :
Agent Architecture & Orchestration
  • Design and implement multi-agent architectures including orchestration layers that coordinate across specialized sub-agents
  • Migrate agent implementations across frameworks, ensuring feature parity and improved performance
  • Architect agent workflows that handle tool-calling, context management, and multi- turn conversations reliably
  • Collaborate on system architecture decisions, ensuring agent patterns are secure, performant, and maintainable
Engineering Excellence & Quality
  • Develop tools and integrations that extend agent capabilities using tool-serving protocols and API development patterns
  • Build and maintain backend services using modern async Python frameworks
  • Work with AWS services (e.g., ECS, Lambda, S3, Bedrock, Agentcore) to deploy and operate agent systems and tool integrations
  • Write evaluation tests to validate agent behavior and tool-calling accuracy using LLM evaluation frameworks
  • Participate in code reviews and guide team members in development patterns, API design, and testing strategies
Quality & Testing
  • Lead implementation of comprehensive test strategies for agent workflows, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing methodologies
  • Design and maintain evaluation suites that validate agent behavior, tool-calling accuracy, and response quality
  • Champion test-driven development (TDD) practices and automated testing frameworks across the agent codebase
  • Establish quality gates and testing patterns that the team replicates for new agent and tool development
Product & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with knowledge framework developers to integrate data sources into agent tool chains
  • Work on complex features requiring strong knowledge of generative AI industry practices and agent orchestration patterns
  • Contribute proactively to the full product development lifecycle, from ideation through deployment
  • Openly share progress and priorities with key stakeholders, communicating complex or technical information at the right level
Generative AI & Emerging Technologies
  • Develop and refine integrations with large language models (LLMs) and agent frameworks as they evolve
  • Stay informed of advances in agent frameworks, tool-serving protocols, and orchestration approaches
  • Identify innovative applications of AI/LLM capabilities to improve agent functionality and user experience
Security & Compliance
  • Assist with adherence to technology policies and comply with all security controls
  • Implement secure coding practices, particularly in handling personally identifiable information (PII) and sensitive regulatory data
  • Participate in threat modeling and security discussions for API and infrastructure components
  • Understand and apply firm security standards and best practices for regulated financial environments
