We are seeking a Segment CDP Platform Consultant & Architect to lead the design, governance, and ongoing operations of a Twilio Segment Customer Data Platform. This role will own the end-to-end CDP architecture, including data modeling, identity resolution, event governance, audience activation, and platform reliability.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly technical, and experienced in operating Segment at scale in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
<>Architecture & Data Modeling>
- Design and maintain a canonical CDP data model
- Define and manage identity resolution strategies using Segment Profiles/Unify
- Establish event naming conventions, property standards, and data dictionaries
- Define PII handling, consent alignment, and data governance standards
<>Platform Build & Operations>
- Configure, govern, and optimize Segment sources and destinations
- Implement and monitor Protocols, including tracking plans, schema validation, and blocking rules
- Build, manage, and optimize Engage audiences and computed traits
- Own platform monitoring, incident response, data quality SLAs, and cost optimization
<>Compliance, Privacy & Security>
- Operationalize consent management and data minimization practices
- Implement role-based access controls and audit-ready governance guardrails
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure privacy-by-design across data flows
<>Collaboration & Enablement>
- Partner closely with engineering teams on client-side and server-side instrumentation
- Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational playbooks
- Provide enablement and guidance to downstream marketing, analytics, and product teams
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in MarTech and/or CDP platforms
- 3+ years of hands-on Twilio Segment experience in a production environment
- Strong expertise in data modeling, JSON, SQL, and REST APIs
- Experience configuring Segment destinations and server-side implementations
- Proven experience with data quality monitoring, platform observability, and cost management
- Solid understanding of consent management and privacy-by-design principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with warehouse-native CDP patterns and Reverse ETL tools
- Familiarity with consent management platforms (CMPs) and privacy tooling
- Experience integrating activation tools (email, paid media, personalization platforms)
- CI/CD practices for tracking plans and schema management
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments

Education
- Bachelor s degree (BS/BA) or equivalent practical experience
Compensation: Up to 140k base plus a 20% bonus.
