Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director of Engineering, Video Analytics Product Development to lead the strategy, development, and execution of next-generation video analytics products across edge devices and cloud platforms. This leader will oversee cross-functional product development teams responsible for delivering differentiated offerings that solve customer problems, scale across deployments, and create measurable business value. The ideal candidate brings deep experience leading product execution across device-side and cloud-based solutions, strong knowledge of modern analytics and MLOps, familiarity with VLM/LLM-powered capabilities, and a proven track record of bringing analytics products to market and operating them successfully at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end development and execution of video analytics products across edge devices and cloud platforms, from concept and roadmap through launch and scaled operation.

  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing product development teams spanning device software, analytics, cloud platforms, and ML engineering.

  • Partner closely with product management, data science, platform, design, and business stakeholders to translate market opportunities and customer needs into clear product roadmaps and execution plans.

  • Drive execution excellence across the product lifecycle, ensuring predictable delivery, high quality, operational readiness, and alignment with business objectives.

  • Lead the delivery of analytics products at scale, ensuring performance, reliability, cost efficiency, security, and operational excellence across production environments and global deployments.

  • Guide product and technical decisions for device-side and cloud-based analytics solutions, balancing customer impact, speed of execution, scalability, and long-term platform needs.

  • Drive the integration of VLM/LLM capabilities into video analytics products where appropriate, including multimodal experiences, natural language interfaces, summarization, search, and workflow automation.

  • Establish operating mechanisms, metrics, and review processes to manage execution, measure product outcomes, and continuously improve development velocity and product quality.

  • Collaborate with go-to-market, customer, and field teams to ensure successful product adoption, deployment readiness, and ongoing product evolution based on customer feedback and usage insights.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, customer focus, and continuous improvement across the engineering organization.

Required Skill:

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics product development, including leading product development teams across device development, analytics, and cloud infrastructure.

  • Proven experience bringing analytics products from concept to launch and operating them successfully at scale across device-side and cloud-based environments.

  • Demonstrated success driving product execution, cross-functional alignment, and delivery excellence in complex engineering organizations.

  • Strong knowledge of modern analytics architectures, machine learning workflows, and MLOps practices across the product lifecycle.

  • Experience with VLM/LLM technologies and their application in analytics products, including multimodal AI, natural language interfaces, search, summarization, and intelligent automation.

  • Proficiency with modern tools and platforms for product development, software delivery, and engineering management.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align engineering execution to product and business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 10+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 9+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 8+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of edge AI, video processing pipelines, and cloud-native analytics platforms.
  • Experience with model deployment, observability, and lifecycle management across distributed device fleets.
  • Track record of building organizational capability through hiring, coaching, and developing engineering leaders and senior technical talent.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with deep technical engagement in architecture, execution, and product delivery.

$275,000.00 - $412,400.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
