Job Description:
Client is seeking an experienced modern BI platform administration technology leader responsible for overseeing the design, deployment, and maintenance of our enterprise visualization cloud platform.
The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with visualization platform technologies, including native visualization technologies on Azure/AWS, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development, platform provisioning & administration, cloud network design, cloud security principles, and automation for toil reduction of repetitive tasks.
Required Qualification:
- Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Plano, TX or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel within the US
- Bachelor s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
- At least 7 years of Information Technology experience
- At least 3 years of experience in managing infrastructure, architecture and operations on any two of the visualization technologies Power BI/Fabric (preferred), Tableau, SAP Business Objects, AWS QuickSight, with at least 6 to 8 years of experience in IT cloud infrastructure, architecture and operations
- Experienced in Overseeing platform upgrades, patching, user provisioning, workspace/projects management, BI content migration, performance tuning, and license optimization.
- Implement and manage data source connectivity, gateway management, capacity planning, and security models.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and platform scalability.
- Experienced in design end to end BI platform architectures supporting enterprise grade analytics.
- Define and enforce governance standards, including:
o Data security & RLS/authorization frameworks
o Naming conventions
o Workspace/project taxonomy
o Lifecycle management (dev test prod)
o Usage/audit monitoring
- Partner with Data Architecture and Cloud teams to define best practice integration patterns
- Manage and mentor a team of cloud visualization platform infrastructure SMEs, providing technical leadership and direction.
- Own and manage platform lifecycle patching, upgrades, capacity planning, performance tuning, and financial/license management.
- Enable new features, tools, and innovations that enhance user experience and productivity in collaboration with new product innovation and enterprise architecture team.
- User access management. Managing user accounts, permissions, and roles.
- Capacity management. Managing capacities, to ensure sufficient resources for user needs.
- Platform configuration. Configuring settings, policies, and features to align with organizational needs and security requirements.
- Governance and compliance: Ensuring compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations.
- Monitoring and Auditing: Tracking usage, performance, and auditing activity.
- Knowledge of different Azure/AWS database platforms and SQL.
- Design and implement cloud security principles around data protection, identity and access Management (IAM), compliance and regulatory, threat detection and prevention, disaster recovery and business continuity.
Preferred Qualification
- At least 4 years of experience in managing infrastructure, architecture and operations with at least 4 years of experience in IT cloud infrastructure, architecture and operations.
- Familiarity of visualization technology s REST APIs for automation and management.
- Knowledge of Power BI tenant settings, workspaces, gateways, and dataflows is preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP Business Objects tools like Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, Universes, Schedules, Analysis for Office etc.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Certifications in Azure/AWS platform administration, networking and security are preferred.
