Senior GEOINT Data Scientist

Our organization is in search of a driven, career-focused Senior GEOINT Data Scientist to become a part of our team in Springfield, VA!

The Senior GEOINT Data Scientist will utilize their robust technical expertise and knowledge to enhance critical data environments. This includes developing efficient processes, assessing unique datasets, and addressing complex intelligence challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engaging with extensive structured and unstructured data within a modeling and analytical framework to establish and refine processes for evaluating unique datasets and tackling intricate intelligence challenges.
• Leading and contributing to the design of innovative solutions and the enhancement of existing processes.
• Collaborating with Program Managers and Product Owners to translate roadmap features into actionable components/tasks, estimate timelines, allocate resources, propose solutions, and identify potential risks.
• Employing exploratory data analysis techniques to uncover significant relationships, patterns, or trends within complex datasets.
• Investigating and applying optimization models, strategies, and methods to guide data management and analysis activities.
• Utilizing big data analytics tools on large, diverse datasets to provide valuable insights and assessments.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED with over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in GEOINT analysis, intelligence analysis, or a related technical discipline.
• Education/Training Substitutions:
  • An Associate s degree may replace 2 years of experience.
  • A Bachelor s degree may replace 3 years of experience.
  • A Master s degree may replace 2 years of experience.
  • A PhD may replace 3 years of experience.
  • Professional certifications may account for up to 6 months of experience.
• Extensive experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) operations, with expert-level skills in manipulating and analyzing structured and unstructured data.
• Proven experience in data mining and the development, maintenance, and manipulation of databases.
• Demonstrated ability to identify potential system enhancements, new capabilities, concept demonstrators, and capability business cases.
• Experience utilizing Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) data processing and analytics capabilities to modernize analytical methodologies.
• Proven track record in leading highly skilled technical and analytical teams tasked with solving complex analytical and intelligence challenges.
• Experience conducting multi-INT and technology-specific research to support mission operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master s degree in Data Science or a related technical field, with experience in developing and working with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML).
• Demonstrated proficiency in advanced programming techniques, utilizing one or more of the following: HTML 5/Javascript, ArcObjects, Python, Model Builder, Oracle, SQL, GIScience, Geospatial Analysis, Statistics, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, Arc SDE, ArcIMS.
• Experience with .NET, Python, C++, and/or JAVA programming for web interface and geodatabase development.
• Experience in building and maintaining databases related to GEOINT, SIGINT, or OSINT data pertinent to area of interest needs.
• Data Visualization experience, which may include Matrix Analytics, Network Analytics, and Graphing Data to assist the analytical workforce in generating comprehensive operational pictures that depict fused intelligence and information for informal assessments and final products.

Clearance Requirement:

• An active TS/SCI clearance with the capability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
• Occasionally needs to move around the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Frequently communicates with colleagues, management, and senior personnel, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to convey accurate information in these situations.
