Sr. Backend Engineer (Java + Python + AI-driven - LLM) | Arizona

Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with strong experience in Java (Spring Boot) and Python to support backend systems and event-driven architecture initiatives. The ideal candidate will have expertise in reactive programming, Kafka-based streaming, microservices, and cloud-native environments, along with exposure to AI-driven conversational platforms and LLM-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Java (Spring Boot) and Python

• Build and maintain event-driven architectures using Kafka

• Implement stream processing with Apache Flink

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs (GraphQL is a plus)

• Work with microservices architecture in Kubernetes/OpenShift environments

• Integrate backend services with AI / conversational platforms

• Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability in distributed systems

Required Skills:

• 6–8 years of Java development (Spring / Spring Boot)

• 4–5 years of Python backend development

• Experience with Reactive Programming (WebFlux)

• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Apache Flink

• Strong experience with REST APIs

• Experience with Redis, MongoDB, and Oracle

• Experience with Microservices, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in distributed systems

Preferred:

• Exposure to AI / conversational platforms (e.g., Dialogflow CX)

• Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, or agent-based architectures
