SATCOM Engineer, Senior
The Opportunity:

That's why we need you, an experienced network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the DoD needs.

As a network engineer on our team, you'll use your experience in SATCOM to support the nation's defense and resp ond to evolving adversaries. You'll troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.

Your knowledge of equipment and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in SATCOM, you'll serve as a t rus ted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curio sit y and knowledge of industry standards, you'll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience with tactical network sof tware engineering functions
  • Experience in all aspects of transmission, including modulation and coding, link budget s, radio frequency equipment, antennas, waveforms, blockage mitigation, and algorithms or protocols
  • Experience with supporting analysis of system performance, throughput and response time, analysis of operational requirements, and system load ing
  • Experience with c ond ucting systems engineering evaluations of satellite and terminal designs
  • Experience with participating in proposal and technical evaluations for satellite systems.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering met hods and processes to perform SATCOM system analysis and evaluations for both commer cia l and military systems
  • Knowledge of Military Standards ( MIL-STDs ) and certification processes
  • Knowledge of customer or vendor product development, business proposals, marketing interaction, product design, and manufacturing processes
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience with tactical network sof tware engineering functions, or 15+ years of experience with tactical network sof tware engineering functions in lieu of a degree


Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with DoD executive offices, program managers, or project managers
  • Knowledge of Army organization structure and Unit Task Organization concepts
  • Ability to analyze issues and propose appropriate resolutions
  • Ability to provide in-depth technical assessments and analysis of activities within and between programs
  • Ability to support the design of system architectures, terminals, waveforms, and access protocols
  • Ability to support design reviews and perform evaluation of satellite and terminal contractor designs
  • Ability to translate complex technical issues into meaningful terms f or other s involved
  • Ability to effectively coordinate within and outside of the program management office
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills


Clearance :

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
