Job Description:

Pay Range: $73hr - $78hr

The Cloud Platform Engineer OpenShift will design, deploy, and manage enterprise-scale OpenShift clusters in on-premises data center environments.
This role requires strong expertise in Linux systems engineering, infrastructure automation, platform reliability, and cross-functional collaboration.
The engineer will ensure platform scalability, security, performance, and operational excellence while supporting enterprise-grade implementations.

Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-scale OpenShift clusters in on-premises data center environments.
Architect highly available, scalable, and secure OpenShift platforms.
Implement cluster lifecycle management including installation, upgrades, patching, and scaling.
Configure networking, storage, ingress, and security components for OpenShift.
Build and automate infrastructure across compute, storage, and networking environments.
Integrate OpenShift with virtualization platforms.
Develop Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Implement CI/CD pipelines for platform deployments and updates.
Provide advanced Linux system administration and troubleshooting support.
Optimize operating system configurations for performance, reliability, and security.
Automate system configuration and compliance management.
Diagnose and resolve complex kernel, networking, and storage issues.
Partner with Site Reliability Engineering teams to establish SLOs, SLIs, monitoring, and alerting.
Implement observability practices including logging, metrics, and tracing.
Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and remediation.
Ensure platform resiliency, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
Collaborate with program management to drive large-scale OpenShift implementation milestones.
Provide technical input into roadmap planning, timelines, and risk mitigation.
Work closely with security, networking, storage, and application teams.
Document architecture, standards, and operational procedures.
Implement RBAC, security policies, and compliance controls.
Harden clusters according to enterprise security standards.
Support vulnerability management and patch governance processes.

Requirement/Must Have:

5+ years of experience in Linux systems engineering.
3+ years of hands-on experience with OpenShift.
Proven experience building infrastructure in on-premises data center environments.
Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture.
Strong knowledge of networking including DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and SDN.
Experience with storage technologies including SAN, NAS, and CSI drivers.
Experience with virtualization platforms.
Experience with automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Should Have:

Red Hat certifications such as RHCE or OpenShift Certification.
Experience implementing OpenShift at enterprise scale in multi-cluster environments.
Experience working in Site Reliability Engineering-driven environments.
Knowledge of DevOps and GitOps practices.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
