Application Support Engineer

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for an Application Support Engineer.

Position type: Full Time/ Contract
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Granite City IL 62040 USA

As an Application Support Engineer, you will be:

• Design, develop, maintain, and improve industrial process control systems.
• Provide ongoing support for production hardware, software, SCADA, and HMI applications.
• Analyze short-term and long-term requirements for hardware, software, instrumentation, and automation equipment.
• Optimize existing control systems to meet operational and business objectives.
• Translate business and operational requirements into technical control solutions.
• Provide technical support in a continuous 24x7 industrial environment.
• Communicate effectively with departmental management, operations teams, control system support personnel, and other stakeholders.
• Participate independently and collaboratively in team-based problem-solving initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong knowledge of industrial plant process control systems.
• Experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, and HMI applications.
• Understanding of industrial instrumentation, control hardware, and automation equipment.
• Ability to analyze system requirements and recommend cost-effective technical solutions.
• Experience supporting production systems in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a 24x7 operational support environment.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with specific PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider).
• Familiarity with industrial networking and LAN communications.
• Experience with process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation engineering principles.
• Prior experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing sectors.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: $36.00- $51.63 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
