We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Engineer with a specialty in Commercial Tenant Improvement (TI) to join our growing team. This is a permanent position on our Construction team, where you will be integral in managing and executing various projects within the Corporate Office, Life Science, Labs, and Education sectors. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your technical skills, leadership abilities, and passion for innovation in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in TI, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all aspects of commercial TI projects, including planning, execution, tracking, and closure.
2. Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives.
3. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
4. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
5. Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis, resolving issues and conflicts as they arise.
6. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
7. Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes when necessary.
8. Determine and assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during the project cycle.
9. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
10. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
11. Track project milestones and deliverables, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
12. Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Project Engineering role with a focus on Commercial TI.
3. Proven experience in managing projects in the Corporate Office, Life Science, Labs, and Education sectors.
4. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
5. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
6. Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks and efficiently manage projects.
7. Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Professional Engineering (PE) certification is a plus.
