STC is seeking candidates for an Integration and Test Engineer to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) / National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service (NESDIS) / Office of Common Services (OCS) on the NESDIS Systems Engineering Services contract.
Integration and Test Engineers ensure that mission systems and cloud-based common services are successfully integrated across enterprise environments and validated end-to-end before operational deployment. This role supports the NESDIS Common Cloud Framework (NCCF), the NESDIS Ground Enterprise (NGE), and associated cloud-based common services throughout the full system development lifecycle. This role also requires the candidate to serve as the central focal point for cross-functional collaboration, proactively pulling together various stakeholders (Mission Managers, Requirements Engineers, V&V Satellite Operational Personnel, and NCCF Developers). Driving this continuous coordination, ensures all teams, technical dependencies, and deliverables are strictly aligned with critical mission milestones.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Systems Integration: Provide Integration and Test (I&T) engineering support for cloud-hosted applications, enterprise services, data pipelines, and mission systems operating within the NCCF. Support the integration of mission systems and common services into development, test, user acceptance, staging, and production environments while ensuring compatibility with enterprise cloud infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and operational requirements.
- End-to-End Workflow Validation: Support end-to-end testing and validation of operational workflows including secure data ingest, product generation, metadata management, storage, archive, dissemination, and customer access services. Develop and maintain integration test artifacts to demonstrate compliance with approved requirements and support auditability of integration activities.
- Cloud Migration Support: Support cloud migration initiatives by assisting with integration, testing, validation, performance assessment, and operational readiness evaluations of applications and services transitioning from on-premise environments to cloud-based architectures.
- DevOps and CI/CD: Support DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) activities through implementation and validation of automated testing capabilities, deployment pipelines, infrastructure-as-code solutions, operational monitoring capabilities, and containerized services.
- Operational Readiness: Support Operational Readiness Reviews (ORRs), deployment readiness assessments, transition-to-operations activities, sustainment planning, and performance verification efforts associated with enterprise cloud services and ground systems.
- Technical Analysis and Reporting: Provide technical assessments, engineering analyses, trade studies, risk assessments, recommendations, and supporting documentation related to systems integration, cloud implementation, enterprise architecture, and modernization initiatives.
- Agile and SAFe Participation: Participate in Agile and SAFe planning events, sprint activities, technical reviews, demonstrations, backlog refinement sessions, and Program Increment (PI) planning activities to ensure alignment between integration activities, testing efforts, and enterprise priorities.
