Duration: 24 Months + Possibility to extend Job Summary

We are seeking an entry-level Engineer Product I Electronics Systems (PCB Designer) to design, modify, and evaluate Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for use in rugged environments. This role involves working with CAD tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and applying engineering principles to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design PCB layouts including component placement and routing using CAD tools such as Xpedition
  • Analyze technical requirements and contribute to design solutions within established engineering guidelines
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and participate in design reviews
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and manufacturers to optimize design performance
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure proper file backups
  • Support data management activities including part library verification
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to implementation efforts
  • Track and report progress to ensure project milestones are achieved
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Open to candidates graduating in Spring 2026
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, including schematics
  • Exposure to CAD software through academic or professional experience
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work in a team environment with guidance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PCB design and layout tools (Siemens Xpedition and/or PADs Pro)
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT)
  • Familiarity with switching power supplies and memory routing rules
  • Understanding of PCB fabrication and board assembly processes
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as IPC
  • Experience designing for harsh environments
  • IPC Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) certification (Basic or Advanced)

  • CAD software experience (academic projects acceptable)
