Bring passion and dedication to your job, and there's no telling what you could accomplish.\\n\\nThe AIML Privacy and Regulatory Compliance (PaRC) team leads privacy and regulatory compliance across AIML, partnering closely with Privacy Engineering, Privacy Legal, Competition Legal, Government Affairs, and various regulatory groups. This team influences the direction of our software features, models, and platforms across the company, balancing the tradeoffs involved in creating successful features that meet Apple's high customer expectations for both quality and privacy. \\nThis team also leads readiness efforts across AIML to meet new regulatory & other compliance requirements, while also exploring how to integrate requirements into infrastructure and processes to ensure continued compliance. Lastly, this team will build, advocate for, and/or improve infrastructure, processes, and programs to improve on AIMLs overall privacy narrative and compliance efforts.\\n\\nThe PaRC team is looking for a Regulatory Engineering Lead with strong knowledge of privacy regulations and standards, technical curiosity and strong understanding of project and product management cycles.

Collaborate with legal and privacy teams across Apple regarding applicable privacy, trust, and competition laws, regulations and policies impacting AIML. \nParticipate in the development of new Apple policies and implement relevant processes and procedures to meet or otherwise comply with laws, regulations and policies. Identify gaps and develop remediation plan to comply with new laws, regulations and policies. \nTranslate legal requirements into implementation requirements and collaborate with engineering teams across Apple to ensure compliance.\n\nThis role will serve as the lead and source of truth for regulatory requirements within Apple's AIML organization, and will collaborate both internally with engineering teams, EPMs, lawyers and policy teams and externally with regulators and standards bodies. This role will be a subject matter expert in translating regulatory frameworks and requirements into actionable readiness plans.\n\nAs part of driving regulatory readiness, this role will ensure data practices (usage, retention, collection, etc.), governance, and privacy policies are updated to meet new requirements. This role will also help ensure new features meet these requirements, while working closely with EPM and other teams to update processes that "bake in" the new requirements.\n\nThis role will be responsible for supporting dozens of key, ongoing regulatory projects including preparation of regulatory materials, management of documentation, creation of presentations, and coordination of cross-functional activity. \nThis role is well suited for detailed-oriented problem solver with people skills. We're looking for someone who works well in collaborative environments. They must be able to focus on details while keeping in mind the big picture. The ability to work with a wide range of cross-functional employees at every level is a must.

5+ years of experience working in privacy, government affairs, and/or AI.\nExperience leading large, complex and ambiguous cross-functional software projects.\nProven ability to work independently (including interacting with senior leaders) with little or no supervision.\nStrong understanding of privacy, competition, and AI regulations such as CCPA, GDPR, DMA, EU AI Act, etc.\nExperience conducting compliance assessments, audits, and risk assessments.

Degree in engineering, privacy, policy or AI.\nStrong written and presentation skills, able to communicate effectively with both engineers and lawyers, and to senior leaders, including Senior Vice Presidents.\nExperience in compliance, public policy, data privacy, or machine learning, and in working with engineers and lawyers.\nSuperb problem-solving, organizational, communication and reporting skills.\nProven ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and work on multiple unrelated topics in any given week.\nAbility to develop relationships and work effectively with different teams at all levels and across functions relative to technical, policy, and business concerns.\nAbility to resolve conflicts and drive issues to resolution while maintaining a high level of efficiency.\nDemonstrated track record of dealing with ambiguity and complexity in achieving and sustaining compliance across technologies at scale.
