Job Title: Senior Java Microservices Developer

Location: Edison NJ Onsite Type: Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Microservices Architect / Lead to design and build scalable, enterprise-grade applications within the payments domain. This role involves architecting modern microservices-based solutions, driving technical design decisions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop enterprise-scale applications using Java and microservices architecture
Architect solutions across payments platforms and transformation initiatives
Build and maintain Spring Boot-based services and APIs
Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka
Develop reactive and high-performance applications
Work with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to deliver scalable solutions
Ensure best practices for performance, scalability, and security
Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams

Required Skills

Strong experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
Expertise in Microservices Architecture
Hands-on experience with Kafka (event streaming)
Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
Knowledge of Reactive programming
Experience designing enterprise-level solutions

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Payments domain (SWIFT, FED, CHIPS)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (OCP / Kubernetes / OpenShift)
Strong understanding of API design and distributed systems
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Qualifications

10+ years of application development experience
Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience
