Job Description
The FileNet Java Developer will design and implement custom migration and integration solutions to support the consolidation of FileNet environments. This role is responsible for migrating content, metadata, workflows, audit history, and integrations while ensuring data integrity, compliance, and alignment with Fifth Third standards.
Key Responsibilities
Content & Metadata Migration
- Identify all relevant data objects. This includes documents, metadata, workflows, and lifecycles tied to migration or integration.
- Map source data structures to target FileNet schemas (document classes, properties, metadata) using custom Java code.
- Handle data transformation differences across metadata formats, document types, and folder structures, including normalization or enrichment where required.
- Migrate and correctly handle versioned documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Preserve document lifecycle states (e.g., draft, approved, archived) during migration.
- Ensure retention policies and classifications are preserved between systems.
Audit, Compliance & Data Integrity
- Migrate audit data and create or update tables as needed to preserve audit trails, version history, and security classifications.
- Validate data integrity, completeness, and accuracy within target object stores.
- Create jobs to re-index documents in accordance with Fifth Third standards.
- Create reconciliation process to track and report on migration of content.
Workflow & Process Engine Migration
- Recreate or migrate workflows from the FileNet Process Engine (PE).
- Ensure workflow steps, participants, routing logic, and triggers function correctly post-migration.
- Validate workflow execution and exception handling after migration.
Integration & Custom Development
- Review and develop custom code to support migration processes, reporting, and data extraction.
- Re-establish or reconfigure existing integrations to support current or newly redesigned processes.
- Provide integration support and API development for downstream or upstream systems.
Testing & Operational Readiness
- Perform test migrations using representative sample data.
- Develop and document rollback and recovery procedures for partial or failed migrations.
- Support defect resolution following test and production migrations.

- Undergraduate degree in computer engineering, computer science, information technology or a related discipline.
