Rate Range: $45/hour to $50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Customer Field Test Engineer Job Responsibilities include:
- Conduct hands-on diagnostics and troubleshooting of heavy-duty trucks, powertrain systems, and vehicle components to identify and resolve field issues.
- Perform root cause investigations using diagnostic tools, data logging systems, and engineering analysis techniques to improve product performance and reliability.
- Collaborate directly with fleet customers, service technicians, dealers, and drivers to document concerns and drive timely issue resolution.
- Collect, analyze, and report vehicle performance data to support engineering investigations, validation activities, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate repairs, software updates, and component replacements with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure effective problem resolution.
- Support new product validation and field-testing activities by evaluating vehicle performance, durability, and customer satisfaction under real-world operating conditions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in vehicle testing, powertrain validation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, or field engineering.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting heavy-duty trucks and powertrain systems, including root cause analysis, diagnostic tools, and vehicle data collection.
- Strong ability to work directly with customers, dealers, and cross-functional engineering teams to investigate field issues, coordinate corrective actions, and support product validation activities.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $50.00 per hour
