Role Overview
Domain AI Consultant Engagement Lead to work onsite in Santa Ana, California and lead strategic AI consulting engagements for a key client operating at the intersection of retail and construction.
Key Responsibilities
Engagement Leadership & Consulting
Lead end-to-end client engagements, including discovery, problem framing, solution shaping, delivery governance, adoption, and value realization.
Partner with business and technology executives to define AI strategy, prioritize use cases, and create actionable transformation roadmaps.
Facilitate executive workshops, design-thinking sessions, use-case assessments, and solution walkthroughs.
Own engagement plans, milestones, risks, dependencies, financial health, stakeholder communications, and outcome tracking.
AI Strategy & Solution Enablement
Shape and lead AI-enabled solutions across:
Demand forecasting, assortment, pricing, merchandising, inventory, and store operations
Construction estimation, procurement, scheduling, field productivity, quality, and safety
Computer vision for plans, drawings, site imagery, store audits, and inspections
Document intelligence, knowledge assistants, agentic AI, GenAI, and LLM-based applications
Translate business challenges into solution concepts, target architectures, MVP scopes, business cases, and implementation plans.
Promote responsible AI, data governance, model performance management, security, and scalable adoption practices.
Retail Construction Domain Leadership
Advise stakeholders across retail development, store planning, construction, facilities, merchandising, supply chain, procurement, and operations.
Apply domain knowledge to connect customer experience, store performance, capital projects, and asset lifecycle outcomes.
Bring practical understanding of construction documentation, estimation, BIM/CAD, contractor workflows, materials, and Division 8 systems where relevant.
Identify repeatable domain accelerators, solution patterns, and consulting assets that can scale across accounts.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary onsite engagement lead and trusted advisor for business and technology stakeholders.
Build alignment across client leaders, domain SMEs, architects, data scientists, engineers, and change-management teams.
Provide concise executive updates on progress, value, financials, risks, decisions, and dependencies.
Coordinate onsite, nearshore, offshore, partner, and client teams to maintain accountability and delivery momentum.
Required Qualifications
Experience
10 15+ years of experience across management consulting, domain advisory, AI/analytics, digital transformation, or enterprise technology delivery.
5+ years leading client engagements, consulting programs, or AI-enabled transformation initiatives.
Demonstrated experience advising US-based clients and engaging senior business and technology stakeholders onsite.
Strong domain experience spanning retail operations and construction, store development, facilities, capital projects, or the built environment.
Technical Skills
Strong working knowledge of:
GenAI, agentic AI, machine learning, computer vision, analytics, and AI solution lifecycles
AI opportunity assessment, business-case development, roadmap creation, and value measurement
Cloud and data platforms, enterprise architecture, integrations, security, and responsible AI
Consulting methods, executive storytelling, operating-model design, and outcome-based delivery
Excellent executive communication, facilitation, negotiation, commercial awareness, and team leadership skills.
Good to Have / Preferred
Experience with retail store development, construction technology, facilities management, or capital project delivery.
Knowledge of BIM/CAD, construction documents, estimating, procurement, contractor ecosystems, or Division 8 systems.
Experience creating AI consulting offerings, reusable accelerators, proposals, statements of work, or executive business cases.
Relevant certifications in AI, cloud, consulting, program management, or agile delivery.
Work Location & Travel
This is an onsite role based in Santa Ana, California.
Presence at the client location is required.
Occasional travel within the US may be needed based on project demands.
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, or related field.
Advanced or professional certifications in AI, cloud, consulting, program management, or agile delivery are a plus.
