Business Analyst

Our client seeks a Business Analyst to be responsible for gathering and documenting clear, unambiguous, and testable business requirements from the client, and understanding the business requirements thoroughly to communicate business need and system functionality to technical and non-technical stakeholders, project team members, and the user community.

Tasks:

·        Document business requirements that are clear, unambiguous, testable, and satisfy the business need in accordance with standard templates and adherence to the Agency’s policies, standards, and guidelines

·        Working with the project team and stakeholders to examine existing and future business processes, data, and systems. This information is used to guide the gathering of business requirements as they relate to the desired system functionality. 

·        Facilitate requirement gathering meetings to identify impacted business processes and document the project business requirements.  Attendees include relevant project team members and stakeholders as identified in the Communication Plan. 

·        Adhere to the project schedule by developing and maintaining the project backlog during Agile projects and working with the product owner to set priority throughout the duration of project. 

·        Understand project scope and actively monitoring requirements process to maintain adherence to the objectives set for the project. 

·        Understand high-level information governance objectives and ensuring appropriate Stakeholder inclusion and/or awareness regarding data requirements. 

·        Assist with the appropriate resolution of critical IT issues as it pertains to the BA role. 

·        Assist with gathering the information and analysis for Build vs. Buy project decisions. 

·        Understand project specific benefits and related impact of changes to project scope or business requirements. 

·        Work directly with project team including user interface/user experience (UI/UX) designers, tech leads, solution architects, database administrators, developers, QA testers, and technical writers to ensure understanding of the requirements, functionality, size, and scalability of the IT solution.

·        Assigned to multiple development projects, working closely with business users and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including team leads, stakeholders, developers, and management

·        Translate business requirements into actionable tasks, deliverables, and expectations

·        Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, UI/UX teams, and the broader project team to ensure alignment and successful execution

NOTE: Candidates must be local to the Lansing, Michigan area (within 90 miles) at time of submission. No relocation allowed. Hybrid Work Schedule (Non-Negotiable), There is no remote-only option. Required on site Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Remote eligible days- Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Ongoing long-term contract with the potential for extension based on performance and business needs

Contract: 1+ year

5 years of experience in the following:

·        Experience as a Business Analyst

·        Experience working with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies

·        Experience gathering and documenting requirements, including Epics, Features, and User Stories

·        Experience documenting current (As-Is) and future-state (To-Be) business process flows

·        Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field required (Please add on your resume)

·        Previous State Government experience
