Summary

Summary:

MTSI is looking for a senior level Aeronautical/Electrical Engineer. The candidate shall have knowledge of RF electronics engineering in support of the design, development, testing and evaluation, implementation, maintenance, production and sustainment of new and/or existing weapon systems or their subsystems such as survivability sub-system components. Shall apply an understanding of systems acquisition, systems and subsystems level hardware and software integration, systems requirements analysis and allocation, computer systems architecture, and systems and subsystems testing and evaluation. Shall review/develop/update applicable program documentation for engineering relevant requirements. Shall work both on integrated product teams and independently on tasks.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Become system expert of multiple survivability systems, understand capabilities and limitations of RF receiver, processing, and transmitting hardware and system software
  • Establish and maintain partnering relationships between customer, system program offices, defense contractors, and end-users
  • Become go-to expert in support of customer leadership, engineers, programmers, technicians, and user questions
  • Generate optimized system data files in support of customer projects and programs using system unique/proprietary programming software
  • Coordinate with defense contractors and DoD laboratories to ensure data developed for customer programs integrates seamlessly
  • Serves as technical expert for the organization and provides advice and assistance to organizational leadership on problems, issues and projects for assigned programs.
  • Assists in translating user requirements into system requirements, which is used to design, develop, test and evaluate software, electrical and electronics for systems, subsystems and equipment.
  • Provides systems/subsystems integration support for the operations, sustainment and verification of systems, software, and equipment. Familiar with Air Force Systems Engineering processes.
  • Familiar with Model-based design concepts.
  • Ability to perform technical evaluations for government contract proposals.
  • Ability to read and utilize Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to write research and white papers in Microsoft Word with few grammatical errors that present concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Able to read and understand schedules developed in Microsoft project.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with and/or brief a small group of military, contract, and civilian personnel.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautics or Physics from an ABET accredited post-secondary education source and 14+ years of relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years' operational and analytical experience in USAF or USN/USMC operational mission areas

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master of Science/Master of Engineering (MS/ME) degree in Electrical, Aerospace/Aeronautical, or Physics is highly desired with 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Operational experience in USAF/USN/USMC aviation fighter, bomber, attack, special operations, or weapons platforms.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Top Secret
  • Must be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.

*This position requires 100% customer location work (Eglin AFB, FL)-Work from home opportunities are possible but limited with this position.
