Sr. Pega Software Engineer - Alpharetta, GA 30009 (Onsite) Interview: In-person interview Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Pega Software Engineer (Intelligent Automation) to join our team in Alpharetta, GA. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams in an agile environment to design and deliver scalable Pega-based solutions.
This role requires full lifecycle ownership-from requirement elaboration using DCO to development, testing, deployment, and production support-while ensuring performance, security, and adherence to Pega guardrails.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build Pega workflows, including case types, stages, flows, assignments, SLAs, subcases, and cover/covered structures
- Implement application logic using data pages, data transforms, activities, decision rules, and validations
- Configure UI/UX using App Studio and Dev Studio, leveraging Constellation and DX API where applicable
- Integrate Pega with enterprise systems via REST/SOAP, messaging (JMS/Kafka), and robotic automation (Pega Robot Manager)
- Apply Directly Capture Objectives (DCO) to translate business requirements into executable solutions
- Implement document-centric automation (OCR/AI integrations, exception handling, human-in-the-loop workflows)
- Enforce security models (RBAC/ABAC, roles, privileges, authentication policies)
- Develop and execute PegaUnit tests, scenario testing, and regression suites
- Optimize system performance using PAL, Tracer, DB Trace, and PDC
- Manage CI/CD pipelines using Pega Deployment Manager
- Configure monitoring, logging, and KPIs for operational visibility
- Conduct impact analysis, platform upgrades, and remediation planning
- Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers
- Collaborate with stakeholders on backlog prioritization and release planning
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and runbooks
- Provide production support, incident resolution, and continuous improvements
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience in Pega PRPC development
- Expertise in case management, workflows, and decisioning
- Experience with Pega App Studio & Dev Studio
- Integration experience using REST/SOAP, messaging systems, and APIs
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Deployment Manager
- Familiarity with performance tuning tools (PAL, PDC, Tracer)
- Experience with Pega security models and guardrail compliance
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and DCO approach
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Pega Constellation UI / DX API
- Exposure to OCR/AI integrations
- Experience with Kafka/JMS/event-driven architectures
- Knowledge of Pega Robot Manager (RPA)
