The Work

The Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, and documenting requirements from stakeholders to deliver effective solutions that meet the clients' objectives. The Business Analyst serves as a key liaison between project teams, technical resources, and business stakeholders, ensuring that end-user needs are accurately translated into clear, actionable project requirements and deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements for complex technology initiatives.
  • Develop clear requirements artifacts (e.g., business requirements, functional specs, user stories) and maintain them throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create and refine use cases to describe system interactions and ensure they are understood and implemented by technical teams.
  • Document and map current- and future-state business processes, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to align on requirements, priorities, and solution approaches.
  • Participate in Agile activities (e.g., backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews) and support backlog definition and clarification.
  • Support testing and validation by helping derive test scenarios from requirements/use cases and assisting with user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Other duties as assigned .

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or a related technology field as a senior-level Business Analyst, demonstrating increasing responsibility and complexity in assignments.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.





Minimum Skills:
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze systems and procedures
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work effort.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years (preferred) working knowledge of Agile project management methodologies and practices, including experience working in Scrum, Kanban, or similar Agile frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Agile artifacts and tools (e.g., product backlogs, user stories, sprint boards, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar).
  • 2 years (preferred) experience in the understanding, development, and documentation of use cases to define system behavior and user interactions.
  • Ability to create structured use case narratives and diagrams that support design, development, and testing activities.
  • 2 years (preferred) experience in process documentation and process mapping, including as-is/to-be process flows, swimlane diagrams, and related artifacts.

Reports to: Program Manager

Working Conditions
  • Professional office environment, with the ability to work onsite in the main office.
  • Must reside in the Austin area.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
  • Travel costs, per diem, and other related expenses must be pre-approved in compliance with State of Texas travel guidelines.
