Location Priority:
1. Plano, TX – PRIORITY
2. McLean, VA – Open
3. Richmond, VA – Open
Please prioritize Plano candidates first, but we are open to strong candidates in McLean and Richmond.
Do not pass on an exceptional McLean or Richmond candidate simply because they are not located in Plano. The technical fit, leadership experience, and Workday background are more important than location for an exceptional candidate.
What We REALLY Need
This is NOT primarily a functional Workday role.
We need someone who is genuinely technical and has a strong software engineering background.

Be careful with candidates who are primarily functional Workday consultants. Functional experience is helpful, but the client wants a technical software engineering profile.
Strong Candidate Indicators
Prioritize candidates who have:
- Worked directly with Workday Finance
- Strong Core HCM experience
- Built or led Workday Integrations
- Strong software development/programming experience
- Led Workday engineering teams or initiatives
- Been a technical lead
- Managed or mentored engineers
- Driven technical strategy
- Worked in a complex enterprise environment
- Financial services/banking experience
- Experience with AI tools or AI-enabled development
- Excellent communication and executive presence
- The ability to clearly explain how they approach difficult problems
Leadership Potential
A candidate does not necessarily have to currently be a Manager, but we want someone who demonstrates the maturity, leadership, technical depth, and communication skills to potentially grow into that type of role.
Someone who has been a Lead Workday Software Engineer and has mentored engineers, driven strategy, owned initiatives, or led technical teams could be an excellent fit.
