We offer both stability and growth opportunities in today's fast-changing environment. We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Power Group in our Boston office.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, who has some desire to work in medium voltage, power generation, renewable generation, district heating, data centers and heavy industrial projects to join our specialized Power group in our beautiful Boston, MA or NYC offices.

Some of your Responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for detailed design of campus electrical grids serving industrial manufacturing sites, district utility providers, and college/university electrical distribution systems.
  • Design of power generation facilities, utility grid interconnections, switchgear and substations, generators, and power distribution network.
  • Execute electrical designs and deliverables for power engineering, cogeneration power plants, chiller plants, and large industrial projects.
  • Able to lead technical team and deliver design for various clients. Provide support to assigned staff on technical and administrative issues.
  • Maintains understanding of project schedule, status, and technical issues. Review all designs issued prior to client submission with supervisor and Department Head.
  • Maintains strong understanding of all associated Codes and Standards and ensure compliance in all Team activities.
  • Continuously improves the Team's deliverable quality, communications, attitude, and efficiency.

Essential Skills and Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of IEEE, IBC, NESC, and NEC electrical codes and knowledge of industry products and design solutions.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, AEC 3-D software such as Autodesk Revit or BIM 360 is desired.
  • Ability to perform system studies with industry software such as SKM ETAP, CYME, CDEGS, AMPCALC 4 for arc-flash, short circuit, grounding, relay settings, time current curves (TCC), voltage drop calculations, and motor starting analysis, is required.
  • Ability to work with design software calculation tools such as AGI-32, DIA Lux, or Visual for lighting power density is desired.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to provide presentations, interface with management and clients, attend meetings and produce written reports.
  • Minimum of 12+ years' experience in related field of power generation and heavy industrial projects, medium voltage (5kV/34.5kV) and low voltage (480V) design of industrial and process plants.
  • Understanding of LV and MV Switchgear functionality, Motor Control Centers (MCCs) as well as Starters and VFDs.
  • Operations and Maintenance methods of design consideration desired.
  • Electrical Testing understanding desired.
  • CSI Specification knowledge and understanding required.
  • Bachelor's Degree (BSEE) required.
  • PE preferred; LEED preferred; PMP a plus.

This is a high visibility role and the total compensation that we expect to pay for this position is dependent on years of experience, licensure, education and project portfolio but expected to be in the $150,000 to $200,000 range.
