Senior Data Engineer

Location: Lansing, MI

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Onsite 2 days per week - REQUIRED)

Interview Mode: In-Person Only (Candidates must be willing to interview onsite in Lansing)

Compliance: Must acknowledge hybrid schedule via Right to Represent.

System Design: Lead the design and development of high-performance solutions using AWS services and Databricks.

Data Engineering: Build and maintain complex ETL processes and data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow and integrity.

Search Optimization: Implement and manage Elasticsearch and Kibana for efficient data retrieval and analysis.

Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and technical oversight to other developers, ensuring adherence to CMMI Level 3 practices.

SDLC Management: Execute the full software development life cycle, including requirement gathering, logical/physical database modeling, and technical documentation.

Modernization: Enhance the stability and functionality of the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS) phase 1.

Database Systems: 12+ years of experience developing complex database systems (Oracle expertise required).

Big Data Tools: 8+ years of experience with Databricks, Elasticsearch, and Kibana.

Programming: 8+ years of proficiency in Python or Scala.

Cloud Infrastructure: 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud-based application development and S3.

ETL & Warehousing: 5+ years developing data pipelines, managing data integrity, and using data visualization tools.

Process & Methodology: 5+ years using CMM/CMMI Level 3 practices and Agile/Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Version Control: Extensive knowledge of source control tools like GIT.

DevOps: 3+ years of experience or knowledge in creating CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

Healthcare IT: Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and HL7 solutions.

Technical Documentation: Proficiency in creating flowcharts, screen layouts, and software design documents.
