Genesis10 is currently seeking a KDB Developer - Hybrid (3 days Onsite Required) position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The successful candidate will join the Fixed Income Currencies and Commodities (FICC) technology team, which delivers critical low-latency front-office data analytics solutions. This role involves working within the FICC KDB technology team to build and maintain high-availability, globally deployed systems as part of a global team spread across London, Dublin, Singapore, and the US.
Responsibilities: - Play an active role in developing and maintaining the KDB based data platform
- Articulate effectively with all stakeholders
- Take existing production architecture and ambiguochanging requirements into stride
- Develop cohesive, intelligent, and logical solutions to problems which meet the immediate requirements of the global business and provide an avenue for further extension
- Analyze, design, build and deploy multi-tier, high availability systems
- Work within an agile delivery model and communicate with other developers in EMEA and the US
Requirements: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science (or relevant work experience in a large scale IT environment)
- At least 4+ years of hands-on KDB development experience
- Strong KDB/q skills with a thorough understanding of q internals such as tp, rdb, hdb, and tick data storage
- Solid knowledge of the UNIX / Linux environment
- Strong experience in one or more scripting languages (Perl, Python, Unix Shell Scripting)
- Experience in designing and developing ETL processes for a data warehouse
- Knowledge of client-server/distributed technologies
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, handle multiple projects, and work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
Desired skills: - Experience in Python
- Experience in FICC business
- Knowledge of Java
Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
