Role Overview
We are seeking an Engagement Manager Sports Analytics to lead client-facing analytics and AI initiatives for a premier consulting client in the Sports, Media & Entertainment space. This role sits at the intersection of advanced analytics, sports domain expertise, and stakeholder leadership.
The Engagement Manager will own analytics workstreams end-to-end, translate data science outputs into actionable recommendations, and partner with client stakeholders to drive adoption and measurable impact. This is a consulting delivery role and not a pure individual contributor or sales position.
What We Are Looking For:
Sports Analytics & Domain Exposure

Exposure to sports analytics, sports performance data, or player-level analytics

Experience working with sports event data, tracking data, or performance metrics

Understanding of player roles, performance indicators, and game-level analytics concepts

Football or professional sports exposure preferred
Analytics Leadership & Delivery

7+ years of experience across analytics, data science, or advanced analytics roles

Experience leading analytics projects or workstreams end-to-end

Ability to structure ambiguous analytical problems into clear workplans and deliverables

Oversight of model development and analytical outputs (guidance rather than day-to-day coding)
Client & Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders on analytics initiatives

Translate analytical findings into clear, executive-ready insights

Manage expectations, timelines, risks, and delivery milestones

Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define success metrics
Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Guide and review work produced by data scientists, analysts, and BI teams

Collaborate with data engineering and platform teams to operationalize analytics solutions

Ensure analytical rigor and best practices across deliverables
Data, Tools & Platforms

Strong understanding of Python-based analytics and machine learning workflows

Working knowledge of SQL for analysis and validation

Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn; PyTorch or TensorFlow is a plus

Experience working with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI

Awareness of analytics platforms such as Databricks and basic MLOps concepts
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field

10+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or advanced analytics roles

Proven experience in client-facing or consulting delivery environments

Ability to lead analytics engagements and influence senior stakeholders
