Job Summary
ATG is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator (Unix/Linux) to support NSWCDD Code 104. The selected candidate will administer, secure, maintain, and optimize enterprise Unix and Linux server environments supporting mission-critical Department of the Navy systems. The role includes systems administration, patch management, automation, performance tuning, cybersecurity compliance, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux and other Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Perform system hardening, STIG implementation, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Monitor server performance, availability, and capacity while resolving complex system issues.
  • Manage user accounts, file systems, storage, permissions, and system backups.
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation to improve system administration processes.
  • Support RMF, continuous monitoring, and cybersecurity compliance activities.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Government stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and system configuration records.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of professional systems administration experience, including Unix/Linux environments.
  • Current DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 5 investigation.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, shell scripting, virtualization, and enterprise server administration.
  • Knowledge of STIGs, RMF, and NIST security requirements.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
Desired:
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or RHCE certification.
  • Experience supporting NAVSEA or Department of the Navy.
  • Experience with VMware, Ansible, or enterprise automation tools.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
