Job Description:

The Role:

The Pilot Line Supervisor will be tasked with fully managing a high-paced R&D pilot line that is developing prototype Gas Filters and Diffusers for specific and direct customer needs. The individual understands and operates at a high technical level, as well as in a buyer/planner role to procure materials and schedule builds. The position requires technical ability, teamwork, communication, problem-solving skills, and the willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position will have a small number of Pilot Line Technicians reporting into this role.

The PL Supervisor works directly with engineering to make continuous improvements to various prototype products in the GMC Pilot line. In addition, the PL Supervisor will help track and report progress of prototype production, order and track delivery schedule of required subcomponents, and manage production schedule based on SAP generated forecast. They will work directly with the engineering team to solve issues that may arise during production. They will work directly with procurement/supply chain to evaluate new vendors as needed to ensure adequate delivery supply.

The PL Supervisor also will have responsibility to assist in creation of top level BOM's and routings. They will also look for ways to improve the production process and flow, whether through tool layout, SOP updates, minor equipment maintenance and other floor related required tasks

What You'll Do:

  • Day-to-day oversight of a pilot production line responsible for products sold directly to customers

  • Direct management of Engineering Techs which requires on-the-floor presence on manufacturing line.

  • Aids engineering in continuous improvement and new product introduction including support of new product design, process development, equipment and process validations.

  • Tracks, monitors, and communicates status of prototype/production builds in progress. Communicate expected delivery dates to customer service/product management. Reacts to changing customer needs.

  • Troubleshoot and identify potential solutions for defects, safety issues or general operating inefficiencies within the production processes.

  • Able to utilize computer systems to manage material inventory movement, process transactions and quality management processes.

  • Able to create/edit/follow specifications, work orders, and SOP's in coordination with development engineers. Will also provide feedback, updates and assist in redlining same documents.

  • Work directly with vendors to coordinate prototype builds, including vendor site visits if required

  • Excellent attention to detail, good organization, communication skills and capable of leading and directing other team members. Coordinate meetings as required.

  • Able to work in team environment and cross functional teams to troubleshoot issues, identify and implement corrective actions.

  • Safely follow standard operating procedures including but not limited to material handling, record keeping, process spec and ensuring all team members are adhering to proper PPE.

  • Create and Update Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Adhere and promote Entegris PACE Values.

  • Understand and promote Lean Manufacturing Concepts is a Plus.

  • Performs other duties as required

What We Seek

  • 2-yr associate degree in technical field. Bachelor's degree would be a plus.

  • 3+ years' experience in manufacturing setting. Experience in leadership role a plus

  • Cleanroom experience a plus.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

  • Understanding and proficient use of Excel, SAP and other software necessary to support engineering and manage scheduling/production orders/inventory tracking

  • Must be proficient in English language to be able to read documentation, communicate, and write.

  • Ideal candidate will have keen eye for quality, is dependable, and will work collaboratively within a team, and possess a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements:

  • The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • This job requires the ability to stand for long periods.

  • Ability to work hands-on in a lab environment for half the time, and at a desk half the time.

  • Use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and you must be able to move throughout the department/facility.

  • Able to lift 50lbs.
