GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior DevOps Engineer to support ACC/A6 efforts on efforts to rapidly insert capability into the deployable communications network and systems. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX and will be a hybridposition.

Responsibilities

Deep expertise in infrastructure as code, platform automation, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure. This role will own the design, build, and lifecycle management of automated deployment and infrastructure workflows across cloud and hybrid environments, with limited but relevant exposure to Juniper Session Smart Router (SSR) and SD-WAN integrations where needed.
  • Design, implement, and maintain reusable infrastructure as code modules using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and related tooling for cloud and hybrid platforms.
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines across Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins to support application, platform, and infrastructure delivery.
  • Develop automated provisioning, configuration management, validation, and drift remediation workflows for compute, networking, and shared platform services.
  • Standardize golden patterns for infrastructure deployment, policy as code, secrets handling, and environment promotion across development, test, and production.
  • Implement automated testing for infrastructure changes, including unit, integration, pre-deployment, and post-deployment validation checks.
  • Integrate logs, metrics, and telemetry into centralized observability platforms to improve performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and proactive incident detection.
  • Partner with Cloud, Network, Security, and SRE teams to deliver resilient, scalable, and secure platform capabilities across multi-region environments.
  • Develop self-service automation and internal tooling in Python, Go, Bash, or PowerShell to reduce manual operational effort and improve deployment consistency.
  • Support secure connectivity and network service integrations, including limited work with SSR-based environments where infrastructure automation intersects with SD-WAN operations.
  • Participate in operational support, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement for infrastructure and delivery pipelines.
