Summary
Title: CICS System Programmer / Support Engineer Location: 100% Remote Duration Contract to Hire Job Description:
- We are seeking a senior , hands-on CICS System Programmer / Support Engineer to support production CICS environments, perform maintenance and upgrades, troubleshoot incidents, and maintain production stability.
- The ideal candidate should have strong CICS and z/OS experience and be able to work independently in a highly technical environment.
Must-Have Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of IT experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting CICS regions.
- Strong CICS and IBM z/OS/Mainframe experience .
- Experience supporting production CICS environments, including maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
- Experience with COBOL, JCL, REXX, and Assembler .
- Ability to work independently and maintain production stability.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Previous Technical Team Lead experience.
- Experience with CICS 5.6 or CICS 6.3.
Technical Environment
- Supports 100+ CICS regions across Ashburn, Kent, and Baltimore data center workloads.
- Current CICS version: 5.6, with an ongoing upgrade to CICS 6.3.
- Dedicated teams handle RACF/Security, MQ, and VTAM; the primary focus of this role is CICS.
On-Call Responsibilities Participate in a rotational 24×7 on-call schedule, initially approximately once every three weeks, potentially moving to once every two weeks .Employers have access to artificial intelligence language tools (“AI”) that help generate and enhance job descriptions and AI may have been used to create this description.
